Church Business Management Institute (CBMI) is a multi-disciplinary Community-Based Organization founded to address a growing need within the Anglican Communion and Episcopal Church: financial sustainability. For years, many churches have relied heavily on external donors, creating an unsustainable model of dependency. CBMI was born out of a vision to reverse this trend by equipping church leaders with business and management skills that can help them lead their ministries toward self-sufficiency.

We envision a world where every church, from the smallest sub-parish to the largest diocese, operates with confidence, free from financial dependence, and focused on its mission to serve the community. By reducing dependency, we believe churches can refocus their energy on what truly matters — spiritual growth, community engagement, and long-term ministry success.
Our Mission
Our mission is to build capacity for leaders in the Anglican Communion and Episcopal Church by providing them with practical, implementable skills. These skills enable leaders to plan, manage, and execute financially sustainable projects that support their ministries, allowing them to thrive independently.
Founded and led by M. Petra Najjuka, CBMI operates from its headquarters in Uganda. With her extensive experience as a consultant, Petra has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at helping church leaders across Africa transition from financial dependency to sustainability.
